Self-Sufficient Facility for Sporting Requirements of Community
A comprehensive sports facility constituting indoor as well as outdoor features is included in the planned
neighborhood of My City Township developed in Dombivli, Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It is a community where
the integration of landscape into the master plan was emphasized and sensitively handled. As an intrinsic
requirement of such a green community, a sports complex with complete facilities for indoor as well as outdoor
sports designed as per standards recommended by Sports Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has been planned
within it. The design for this sports complex follows the same principle of seamless integration of built and open
spaces as has been adhered to in the township master plan.
In this township project, the INI Design Team strived to create a healthy
community with spaces and facilities that promote recreation and
wellness, while offering many venues for social engagements

Sports Avenue Unifying Various Elements of Sports Complex
A grand entryway planned from the western edge allows users to park their vehicles at the ample parking facility and walk into the large football ground premises bounded by racetracks. Another entryway is through the sports retail arcade towards the southern side of the football ground, where branded shops and entrance & changing facilities have been provided. Visitors entering from either of the two points can spill onto the sports avenue – a pedestrian boulevard with seating and landscape features aligned with the southern end of the football ground. The avenue further leads to the basketball and tennis courts as well as cricket practice nets located ahead. Various seating facilities like bleachers and benches have been integrated with the lush landscape bordering all the outdoor sport fields and courts.
