Today, Mr Jayesh Hariyani, Chairman, IGBC Ahmedabad Chapter handed over the IGBC plaque and certification to Dr Karsan bhai K Patel, President, Nirma University & Chairman Nirma Group, Shri K K Patel- Vice President, Nirma University Dr Anup K Singh- Director General, Nirma University and Prof Utpal Sharma, Dean & Director- Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University

The project is the first Gold rated green campus in Gujrat in recognition of the following key green features implemented such as the 1,44,433 sq.m campus area is planted with native & adaptive tree species to enhance the green cover and reduce the heat island effect. Further, a 416 KW capacity on-site Solar PV system generates 650,899 units annually.

100% of the rainwater received by the campus is harvested through 31 recharge pits, entire roof area is coated with SRI paints to mitigate heat island effect and the campus uses 100 % LED lighting, resulting in 62% reduction in annual lighting load.
